YOGURT BANANA MASK

banana-DIY-Recipe-Hair loss

Bananas help with both split ends and breakage prevention. Yogurt is filled with lactic acids that help rid the scalp of dead skin. Together this combo helps treat dandruff while locking in much needed moisture!

Mix 1/2 banana and a cup of organic yogurt. Let the mask sit for 20 minutes, then wash it out with warm water.  Make sure to rinse the product thoroughly!

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR RINSE

The high citric acid content of the apple cider vinegar keeps its pH around 3.5. It nurtures the hair cuticles and protects it from damage. It also assists in healing the already damaged hair.

Apple Cider Vinegar can help get rid of left over products that cling to your curls, which will restore your scalp to its natural pH. You’ll want to dilute the apple cider vinegar with water before you apply it to your head. Use a 1:3 apple cider vinegar to water ratio while preparing your treatment. Let the mask sit in your hair for 10-15 minutes while covering your head with a plastic bonnet.

To get the apple cider vinegar smell out of your hair, make sure to condition after you’ve completely washed out the treatment.

3. AVOCADO & COCONUT MASK

Avocados are also rich in vitamins E and B making this mask the perfect moisturizing agent. Coconut has some amazing properties of shielding the hair from environmental stresses and increasing its volume. The combination of these two ingredients provides an outstanding result.

Ingredients

1 avocado 2 tbsp coconut milk 2 tbsp coconut Oil

Instructions
Mash the avocado, then make it into a paste. Add coconut milk and oil into the paste, and you are good to go! If you don’t like the smell, you can always add a few drops of essential oil. Apply the paste to the roots of the hair and keep it on for 30 – 45 minutes before washing your hair.

The avocado helps in reducing the breakage and repairing the hair. Coconut oil stimulates the hair growth and also makes your hair shine. Repeating this process once a week shows great improvements in hair quality.

ALOE VERA MASK FOR DANDRUFF

In case you are suffering from the age-old severe dandruff problems, then this mask is definitely for you. Dandruff is truly irritating and can be itchy, flaky, and downright embarrassing.

Aloe Vera does wonders when it comes to hair problems. With its soothing properties, aloe vera works like magic. The specific enzymes present in it keep your scalp free from dandruff. It also reduces the dryness of the scalp- the primary reason behind the dandruff problem. Aloe vera also promotes blood circulation of the scalp.

The ideal way to apply it on your hair is by squeezing out the aloe vera gel and massaging it all over your scalp. Let it rest for 40 minutes, then rinse it off thoroughly. Aloe vera instantly gives your hair a refreshed look. The anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial effects accelerate the hair growth and boosts its volume.

STRAWBERRY MASK FOR CURLY HAIR

The tart-natured strawberries are loaded with plenty of vitamin C, making them ideal to control scalp oil. Strawberries gently rinse away all the excess oil of your scalp that build-up over the day. They also regulate the natural pH of the scalp and give you shiny and glossy hair.

To make a strawberry mask, blend a handful of fresh strawberries in a blender, then add some coconut oil to it (optional). Apply the paste, preferably on a damp hair. Keep it for some time (longer is better) and rinse your hair well. Keep in mind that the longer you keep the mask on, the more time it will have to nourish the hair roots and give your hair a softer look.

OLIVE OIL AND LEMON JUICE FOR ITCHY SCALP

It is common to have itchy scalp in the winter season, since the cold weather makes the scalp dry and scaly. You can combat this problem by making a hair mask composed of olive oil and lemon juice. This combination will give you the perfect nourishment for your hair. The low pH of the lemon juice removes the dry flakes of your scalp while the olive oil moisturizes the new skin on the scalp. Just mix two tablespoons of lemon juice with an equal amount of olive oil and apply on your scalp. Keep it on for 20 minutes, then rinse your hair with a mild chemical-free shampoo. Use this mask for twice a month and get rid of itchy scalp forever.

JOJOBA OIL MASK FOR BRITTLE HAIR

Frustrated with brittle hair? Oils are the best moisturizers for your hair. Jojoba oil is the most recommended oil. Apply jojoba oil and massage it into your scalp for five minutes. If you have oily hair, you can apply it to the root of your hair too. Let your scalp absorb the oil for some time. For better results, wrap your hair with a wet towel. Wash your hair thoroughly after one hour. The jojoba oil deeply moisturizes hair and keeps it hydrated.

ALMOND MILK AND COCONUT OIL MASK FOR FLAKY SCALP

These two products provide instant results for the flaky and itchy scalps. Add 5 tbsp of grounded almonds and 2 tbsp of coconut oil together. Mix them and whisk the mixture until you get the desired consistency. Apply it on your hair, then wrap your hair with a dry towel and leave it overnight. Wash your hair with a mild chemical-free shampoo and cold water in the morning. These two ingredients are the best for providing all the pampering your hair needs.

All these vegan hair masks are simple and natural, yet effective ways to protect your hair from daily stress. The ingredients are easily available and the masks can be made at home. Using the masks regularly will enhance your hair quality. Include these masks in your daily hair care routines and you will have a proper hair care and grooming ritual that will always pay off. Life can’t be perfect, but hair can be.

You can try some of these homemade products to get a feel for what your hair needs. If your hair is dry try added humectants to dry hair which include shea butter.

I am fairly new to the natural hair journey, so I get so frustrated with all the different products and not to mention how pricey they can get. However. I am very excited to find your website and can’t wait to try these all natural hair recipes.
