Sole Water Vs. Salt Water

Have you ever swam in the ocean and accidentally took a big gulp of (cough) salt water?

Yuck! Obviously, this is something you’d likely try to avoid as best you can when going for a dip in the deep blue sea.  But, what if I told you that salt water is good for you and that you should drink it every morning?

Meet your new favorite supplement: Sole water.

Sole (“sol-ay”) water is essentially water that is completely saturated with natural, unrefined salt.

What’s the difference between table salt and unrefined salt?

In short, table salt is mined from low-quality rock salt from the earth then dried at a very high temperature so that the chemical structure is completely changed into sodium chloride. Many large salt companies then add a number of additives, including aluminum, flouride, synthetic elements, and anti-caking agents, to make the salt edible again.

On the other hand, unrefined salt is straight from the earth. It has not been processed and, as a consequence, still contains trace minerals and vitamins essential to our health.

What are the benefits of drinking sole water?

What kind of salt can I use to make sole water?

There are a number of natural salts to choose from when making sole water. Here are two popular ones:

Himalayan Pink Salt

According to Draxe.com, Himalayan Salt is known as the cleanest salt available on this planet today. It comes from near the salt mines 5,000 feet below the Himalayan Mountains and is believed to come from the original primal sea, more than 4 billion years ago.

Celtic Sea Salt

Celtic Sea Salt contains all 82 trace minerals needed by the human body. It does not contain any chemicals, preservatives, or additives. This sea salt is harvested from Brittany France, near the Celtic Sea.

How To Make Sole Water

Essentially, all you need to do to make sole is mix filtered or purified water with enough salt so that it is completely saturated. Check out Wellness Mama‘s detailed recipe, here.

Directions

  1. Start with 1 cup of salt and a container, like a mason jar, of water with a non-reactive lid (Stainless steel, ceramic, glass, and/or metal with enamel coating). Fill the jar with about a quarter cup of salt and water.
  2. Shake and let it dissolve overnight or for a few hours.  If the salt absorbs (you see no salt crystals settling at the bottom of the jar), continue to add more and repeat the process until you begin to see crystals at the bottom. This signifies that the water is fully saturated with salt.

How Do I Take Sole Water?

You can simply take one teaspoon of sole water every morning. To avoid the too-salty taste, dilute into a an 8-12 oz. of purified water and drink first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.

Note: Be careful not to handle the sole water with anything that is metal or reactive.
