We pulled into the sequestered driveway of the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas. While anyone can pass through a hotel along the Strip, few travelers make it to the Four Seasons. It was the day after Thanksgiving when Las Vegas hotel prices were unusually cheap and we’d booked our room weeks in advance. Parents escorted their children and canine companions through the ritzy hotel. There were no casinos in sight. When we were ready to gamble, the amenities and entertainment at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino was accessible through a set of doors.
The Room
I love their decadent, art-deco inspired rooms with chrome and reflective surfaces, silvery blue fabrics, and beige undertones. The marble bathrooms had fluffy robes, a bathtub, and shower.
Pool, Gym & Spa
In the morning, I went to the gym and was surprised to find a clean, well-appointed set up with fluffy towels, apples and Gatorade by the fountain. The sprawling gym had aerobic equipment with television sets, a dozen weight machines, and personal workout tools for calisthenics.
After my workout, I was able to wash my face and steam. The final day of my stay, I meandered through the French doors from the gym to find the jacuzzi, which is exclusive for hotel and spa guests. You can only book a cabana if you are a guest of the hotel. Though it was cold, I was able to enjoy the jacuzzi just fine.
The Food
The best brunch buffet I’ve experienced in Las Vegas was at Veranda, whose buffet featured made-to-order doughnuts, niche egg dishes, fresh-pressed juices, and any breakfast treat you wish. Meet me at their Happy Hour, which has a gigantic ‘movie-style’ soft pretzel. There are two other restaurants: Charlie Palmer Steak and PRESS.
