A bouquet of forgotten flowers left on some tabletop is a sad sight.

Here is a perfected flower recipe to keep your blooms singing all week long.
- Wash a vase with dish soap. A taller vase is preferable. Then fill the clean vase with lukewarm water.
- Add homemade “flower food”: 1 tablespoon sugar for every 1 teaspoon bleach. The sugar nourishes the flowers, and the bleach keeps bacteria from contaminating the water.
- Trim half an inch up the stem, or wherever you think is right.
4. Et voila! Lovely flowers that will last for 7 – 10 days, depending on how fresh they were when they were purchased! Repeat every two or three days.
